Stormwater Civil Engineer PE
📍 Location: Orlando, FL
💼 Full-Time | Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 (DOE)
🏗 Contractor Option* | Hourly: $75/HR to $100/HR (DOE)
We are seeking a highly experienced Stormwater Civil Engineer PE to lead stormwater management efforts across Florida. This role requires a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with deep expertise in hydrology, stormwater permitting, and regulatory compliance with Florida jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead stormwater evaluations, permitting, and reporting for residential and commercial development projects.
- Prepare due diligence reports and determine developable areas based on hydrologic constraints.
- Coordinate with local and state agencies including:
- – SFWMD, SWFWMD, SJRWMD, FDEP (10-2 certifications), FDOT (drainage connection permits), FEMA.
- Perform site visits and prepare stormwater management reports.
- Utilize modeling tools including ICPR 4, Stormwise, HEC-RAS, and GIS.
- Ensure compliance with Florida code, TMDL regulations, BMP trains, and nutrient loading analysis.
- Perform LID calculations for small residential and commercial construction.
- Coordinate with civil engineering staff to integrate stormwater designs into construction plans.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in stormwater engineering and permitting in Florida.
- Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida with a focus on water resources.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in TR-55, Ponds, ICPR 4, Stormwise, HEC-RAS, GIS, and other hydrologic/hydraulic modeling.
Preferred Attributes
- Strong knowledge of Florida water management district regulations and permitting processes.
- Experience with FEMA floodplain analysis and FDEP 10-2 certifications.
- Familiarity with local agencies such as Orange County, City of Orlando, and others.
- Ability to work independently and remotely while coordinating with internal teams.
